Today I first smoked marijuana as a joint. I was with 3 friends which previously smoked pot but for me it was the first time. I experienced an inhaling problem. When I was drawing the smoke into my lungs, It felt like a barrier was blocking it. After it reached my lungs, I couldn't hold it in for more than 1 second. I was having lot of coughs and I didn't feel much of the marijuana effects. Just a little dizziness. Why is that? My friends were all high but I was too ashamed to tell them I'm not... Can anyone explain to me please?

Hardly anyone I know actually gets high the first time. Your friends should've done what is called "super" with you, because as a first-timer thats the easiest way to get high, other than making weed brownies or cookies.

The coughing is absolutely normal, and so is the chest pain. The first time I smoked weed, it felt as if my throat was burning, and my eyes started to water, and I couldn't stop coughing. The coughing usually happens, even to people who've done it before, sometimes. I've smoked weed many times, and just the last month was the first time I tried it with a bong. I coughed super hard and ended up drinking 3 bottles of water before I managed to calm down.

Don't worry about it, it was your first time, and I'm sure your friends wouldn't have been surprised if you had told them you weren't high. It's normal, and they've probably been through the same thing.

The thing about smoking weed is that you need to learn how to hold it in long enough and release properly. Once you start doing it more often, you get used to the techniques and you automatically can sense when you've taken a good toke (puff). You can feel it hit you, and you learn how to draw it in properly.

Don't be ashamed to ask your friends about this, they might tease you but I'm pretty sure they've been in your position at some point.

I don't think anyone gets high the first time...try it again an i bet you get high.

Weed makes you want to cough more than cigarette smoke but eventually your body gets used to it.

Try smoking a cigarette before hand to get in the rhythm of inhaling and then have the pot. Then have another cig after..I always found it made it better.

Then grab the lucky charms and the dr. pepper cuz that $hit tastes soooooo good with cotton mouth.

You generally don't feel the high the first few times you smoke. This has to do with you not knowing what feeling to feel and also not being able to take everything in when you smoke.
You will feel more high more quickly the more you smoke, but this might temp you to smoke more!
My advice is not to do it at all, but that was not your question :)

  5. First time-nothing really happens. I bet it's like smoking a hookah, so you'd need practice. Be careful!

Memories. The first time I hit bomb I was 11. It hurt so bad! I fell asleep. Yea its normal to cough and get dizzy if you didn't get high maybe you didn't smoke enough or it was bunk weed. You could have f***k up your high if you were nervous. If you really want to get high try n hold it in.

  7. Yea I smoked 7 to 8 times maybe more before I got high. Stay away from the cigarettes it's terrible for your whole body and health, believe it or not pots not that bad for you.You can also use a vaporizer easier on lungs and there is no smoke.
