You might get someone who is more knowledgeable in this if you posted this in the "Pets" section of yahoo answers rather than the human health section

  2. Urine turns dark in humans if we don't stay hydrated. I would think the same goes for an animal, if they don't drink, they're urine becomes more concentrated. If the water is readily available and your chinchilla isn't drinking, it may be another problem.

    That's feces, not urine.

I don't think so. Chinchillas come from the dessert. Dessert creatures try to conserve water, by getting rid of less water when they urinate. This makes their urine more concentrated. Iwould suspect this would make the urine darker, smellier, and more acidic.

In humans, dark urine is a symptom of dehydration.

I dont know a lot about pets, but if its urine is dark colored I think you shuld be worried. Go and see a vet, it could possibly be an infection, the longer you wait, the worse it will get if it is one.
