Besides for about two years, I feel heaviness in chest and breathlessness. I am 5'3" and 89 kg. Both my parents were diabetic and heart patient. ( my father passed away at the age of 46, and my mom is still alive and is 53 years old). I am 31-female. Have i suffered a heart attack?

That is what myocardial infarction means- a heart attack. I'd Google it for more information relating to diabetes and hereditary cardio problems.

A myocardial infarction is a heart attack. When a heart attack happens it kills areas of heart muscle which can decrease the efficiency of the heart as a pump, which is bad. I'm kind of surprised that your doctor didn't clearly explain this to you, but you need to discuss with your doctor the best ways to get your health on track so you can live a healthy life!

That is the response that the ECG machine makes. Often times it is wrong. You need to have a doctor or PA read the ECG for you... Typically when it says possible it means that there are nonspecific (St segment) changes to your ECG. Given this information your cardiologist or whoever ordered your ECG would have contacted you about this... you could have had a heart attack, But No one on here can diagnose you. now your family history is very important but also you personal medical history is important to. If you have for example high blood pressure, diabetes, cholesterol, etc etc a practitioner would start to suspect heart disease. Given your risks your ecg would support or not support a diagnosis. had you had this ecg because you were suspected to have heart disease, I'm assuming your cardiologist or primary would have contacted you already.....
eitherway dont worry about what is on the ecg.. its probably not correct... but no one here can tell you for sure.

If the EKG states that there is possibly an old infarct. It states in your case, inferior myocardial infarction, age undetermined. An old infarct is not noted by ST changes as the previous poster stated. An infarction (dead tissue) will be noted by a distinct Q wave on the EKG. In your case in Leads II, III, and AVF. ST depression or elevation changes on the EKG would signify possible active MI in progress.
The EKG's automatic interpretation can be wrong and is only used as a 2nd opinion in the ambulance.Posted 1 year ago # -
