We have new neighbors and they smoke. The past week they have been home everyday and smoke in their apartment and its coming into mine. I cant turn my stove vent on without it sucking their smoke into here. I am sitting in my living room right now gagging because the ciggarette smell. I have 2 young children and I am very concerned with them breathing this in. I have a headache 24/7 since they moved in from the smell. We have took every measure to prevent this smoke from coming in. We sealed ALL holes under sink with spray foam, put on socket covers, etc etc. I cant take it anymore. They even smoke in the entry hall. Its horrible. Is there anything I can do?? Anyone I can contact about this issue???
The manager of the area I live in said there is nothing they can do but ask them to smoke outside, which they havent done. My neighbors smoke in the common areas, which is illegal. I am so fed up. I pay 800 a month to breath smoke...

First I gotta say you are lucky to be paying only 800 dollars for rent. 2nd..it's it's not all that serious, i'm sure you are not sitting there gagging..and 3rd, you live in a place where smoking is allowed..and it's their apartment, and you can't tell someone who smokes not to smoke in a place they pay for and live in, just like I told some old neighbors of mine, if you don't like it..then move..smoking is legal, and you chose to live in a place where smoking is allowed. by the way, the air your kids are breathing in from truck, car and bus exhaust, and other things outside, are way worse for them that cigarette smoke.

I'd say contact the landlord and file a complaint and hopefully they can come up with a solution.

Talk to your landlord about it.

your landlord.

Bring this up to the landlord or condo board meeting. It's 2nd hand and 3rd hand smoke, it's def a hazard, especially for your children.

Yes contact the property manager and let them smell the issue. If they cannot provide you with a sanitary environment then you should be able to break your lease, but I would advise a lawyer first. Or maybe they will move you to another apartment.

There's nothing you can do. You can have the landlord line the door with something to seal it, to keep out smoke, but it'll get in eventually. You'll have to move. Try to find a place with a building that doesn't allow smoking tenants / a newer building where that wouldn't be a problem.
