Last week, I got the results from my blood test and the doctor says I have diabetes. I'm getting worried now yet I continue to eat a lot of junk since I buy a lot of it. I'm not sure what type of diabetes I have since I haven't seen a doctor that specializes in diabetes yet. I'm afraid if I carry on with eating sweets and other junk food something will happen to me. Please can someone tell me do I really have to stop eating junk and if you can answer what are the foods I need to avoid. Please and Thank you.

With or without diabetes we should all be giving up all the junk food and candy we consume. It's just not good for us. Yes, you will have to give up most of that stuff now that you have diabetes. You may only have a beginning stage - controllable through diet. If you don't give up the junk, you'll become an insulin dependent diabetic. Then you'll have to give yourself shots every day.

well my mum is diabetic and it sounds like your type one unless your fat and have wheight problems then you might be type 2 (no offense sorry) but you need to cut down on sugar and just have it in moderation but if you suffer from 'low blood sugars' sometimes you need sweets and sugar to bring you levels back up! but if you have 'high blood pressure' then try and stay away from sugary foods . but dont just take our word for it, do some reasearch yourself on it then your fully clued up, cos NHS offer support but also get in touch with your doctor and ask more about what type you have.

You won't have to give up sweets -- you'll just have to eat them in moderation. Make them a treat instead of a regular dessert. See if you can talk to a nutritionist, they'll tell you everything you need to know -- and in great detail.

well u can eat sugar free junk instead
but even if it wasn't for diabetes
u need to eat less junk more healthy food

u can eat but in regulated small amounts

as for food in general u need to stay away from sugary food
and fat based food and fried food
just try not eat those every day :)
    like fries and ice cream

change from sugar to artificial sweetener for ur drinks
drink instead light or sugar free fizzy drinks

mainly u just need to lead a more healthy life
    and eat at specific tym
like 3 times a day with a snack in between each meal

u dnt need to deprive ur self from anything
just eat in smaller amounts and
keep ur eye on ur blood sugar levels (u'll know wat that is and how to test wen u meet with ur doctor)

Dnt worry u'll get the hang of it
u'll understand wat ur body needs and how to deal with different situations
    just give it some tym
    and have some patience :)

    Good Luck!

Depends on what type you are.

Type Two Diabetes I would very suggest no more sweets.
Type One Diabetes I would say no, I have sweets and I am type one. Nothing changes all you have to do is take enough insulin to cover it and eat something long lasting with it.
