Oh no! I have something (an STI possibly) going on down there! Please will you help me?

  1. I am freaking out! What could this be??

9 days ago I noticed a small bump (about the size of a mosquito bite) on the upper part of my private parts (about 3/4 inch above my clitoral hood and to the side). It wasn't red, didn't look infected, and was basically just a bump on my skin (same colour as my skin). It was a bit sore when I touched it.

I shave my pubic area every second day and exfoliate afterwards. About 5 days after I first noticed this bump I saw something weird. I was getting undressed before my shower and this bump felt itchy. I kind of poked it and a tiny amount of white stuff came out. I grabbed a kleenex and sort of squeezed it. More white stuff came out. I hopped in the shower and I exfoliated the area but did not shave. I thought shaving might carry the bacteria so I didn't.

I showered, exfoliated, and used bodywash on the lump for the next 3 days but I didn't shave the area. Last night when I was about to go in the shower it was a little sore feeling again and another much smaller (like 1/3 the size) bump had appeared about 1/2 inch straight above my clitoral hood. I kind of scratched both of them and a small amount of blood came out. I went into the shower and used bodywash on the area but that's it (I didn't shave or exfoliate). When I got out I dried the area, put polysporin on the 2 bumps, and covered them with band-aids.

When I woke up this morning I peeled the band-aids off and noticed the bumps were almost gone. The really small one I can't feel and it just looks like a tiny red patch. The bigger on is still sore when I touch it, red in colour, and is still sticking out of my skin a tiny bit.

I have never had sexual contact ever with someone who has had an STI. Also, I have never had a cold sore and the 3 guys I have kissed haven't either.

Is it a pimple? A boil? An ingrown hair? An STI?

Thanks in advance for your help.

  2. That sounds like you may have an ingrown hair. When you shave do you shave upwards? If so that will cause an ingrown hair because you are going against the direction of the hair growth. It may be a little difficult to shave downward, but this will prevent ingrown hair. You may have gotten this bump infected and need to be put on antibiotics for a few days. Keep a watch out on it. If it gets really red (inflamed) or starts to ooze then it is infected.

It's probably just spots from all the shaving and exfoliating.
Wow, you are being a little rough in a sensitive area you know.
    And why exfoliate there ?
    Why don't you wax.
You will have longer lasting results .
You wont have a shaving rash to contend with either.
If you do try waxing, invest in some Aloe Vera oil.
This helps to soothe the skin afterwards.

it could be a shaving bump, just infected try not to touch it, it should go away, if it doesn't in a few days you might want to get it checked

Don't worry!! It is just a pimple or an ingrown hair :] It happens all the time! To almost everyone! Trust me :] It is not an STI. :]

It is either an ingrown hair or a pimple, it'll go away as long as you leave it alone.
    NO WORRIES(:

Likely it is just an infected ingrown hair. I wouldn't shave anymore, just trim. And while you think it may look prettier to shave, it isn't as good for your skin. You were right not to shave (it spreads the bacteria and you are producing a lot more openings for the bacteria to get into if you do)

I wouldn't put a bandaid on it again either. That can harbor bacteria as well. It isn't an STI, or at least doesn't sound like one (HPV wouldn't produce a purulent discharge and Herpes sores wouldn't produce that type of discharge either.)
