    ok I am 21 and I have a overbite...

I don't know if it's a severe overbite or just like a regular or minor one...

It doesn't hurt, I never had any problems with it, when I used to go to the dentist they never said I needed it fix or anything...I have a couple of questions about it...

    1. when I smile wide and show my teeth you can see all of the bottom row, only 3 teeth at the bottom are covered by the 2 big teeth at the top...is that considered a severe overbite or a mild overbite????

    2. Does everyone that chooses not to get braces or surgery feel pain and have jaw problems in the future???? or are there some people out there that live life without it treated and don't experience any problems and are perfectly fine???
and my top teeth are only like a couple of centimeters ahead of my bottom teeth

I'm no dentist, but your case doesn't sound too bad to me.

I had a terrible overbite when I was younger.

If you are that concerned, ask your dentist those above questions!

But otherwise mate, dw, it sounds alright

no need for treatment if your lower teeth don't hurt your upper gums.normally upper front teeth should cover 1/3rd of lower teeth height.bite and then check in mirror how much overlap is there.only if there is a full overlap and you have gum problem then go for treatment.

A COUPLE OF CENTIMETRES?!?! That's a massive overbite... Orthodontists tend to treat anything that is 8mm+ as relatively serious, so if it's centimetres then you should get it checked out... I had a 5mm overbite, and they said that it actually needed to be fixed...

    Good luck :)
