People with Borderline or any "personality disorders" why?

So, what is it you are asking? It sounds like you are venting. When you introduce yourself do you mention recovery? If you are the one bringing it up, then you are getting what people think you want.

You can't make everyone read a book and get a clue about who you are. Just be yourself, don't focus on the recovery, focus on what is right about your life. The stuff you want to change, no one can change but you.

I agree with Jaha. I have mild autism and I only tell people I'm extremely close to because otherwise it may alter their expectations of me, even if they accept me. You don't have to let your diagnosis become your identity, but mental illnesses of any kind cause a person to suffer and having a name for the condition helps them understand the problem and find resources for treatment. It's easier for me to be diagnosed with "OCD" than spend my life wondering what these weird urges are or if there's a way to get rid of them.

You sound like a pain in the ass.

I have borderline personality disorder and don't ask other people to twist themselves up to accomodate me. But then I did the work to "recover".

So don't go to therapy. Don't waste their time.
