I know there is something wrong but how do I tell my mom? My period tends to last for weeks and lately has been very heavy. I'm scared because this has been happening for about 6 months. My period stops for about a week or two them I get it for a LONG time. I've only had my period for a year though. My mom has noticed it bleeding through my clothes and told me to keep track of how long though. She hasn't asked in like 3 months though. HELP! how do I explain I hate asking for pads so this will be even worse :(.

You should tell your mom. Don't be embarrased there may be an underlying health problem. I would want my daughter to tell me and I would not make her feel different or embarrased.

Don't be afraid to tell your mom!
She's been through her period and adolescence as well! Nothing to be embarrassed about!
When you two are in the car alone (the car is a good place, because you're alone and there's nothing to distract you two, except driving, of course) talk to her about it. Don't be scared, she needs to know these things.
You really shouldn't of kept it to yourself for this long!
Hope everything works out!

if your in HS, go to your school nurse, or just make it over to your local Planned Parenthood, you need medical attention

You tell her because your health and maybe even your life are at stake.
Bleeding like that is not normal.
The cause might be something as easy to fix as removing a polyp, or it might be more serious.
The longer you wait the worse it will get.
Tell your mother you NEED to see a doctor NOW.
Don't wait until you pass out from loss of blood, or worse!Posted 2 years ago # -
You could become anemic from blood loss due to your heavy periods. You need a check up with a GYN Dr. to see what's going on. Talk to your Mom. She loves you and cares about your health.

Just be careful when camping as bears are attracted to blood.

tell your mom about it and ask her to take you to a gynecologist..i was the same way and she put me on birth control to regulate my period, it has nothing to do with sex it just helps you stop and start bleeding on a normal routine...it can actually be kind of dangerous..i got severely anemic(loss of too much blood), and my gyne took care of it
