This is more common than you think, but the fact that you don't have pain is what is unusual. These involuntary toe spasms are usually very painful and are usually caused by some type of pinching of a nerve from the spinal column. I've had this happen to me since I was a teen. It helps to massage the area when it's occuring. If it continues and you are concerned visit a foot doctor first and see what he/she feels should be done, or if they recommend another type of doctor.

You don't say your age. I'll assume you are a young person. Probably you need to replenish your electrolytes in you body. The most needed are sodium and potassium. I recommend grapefruit juice, it's the best and fastest. Drink a couple of glasses of grapefruit juice (not from concentrate) and you will be fine. If you live in a hot climate or exercise a lot or the type of work you do make perspire a lot, always keep a couple of quarts of grapefruit juice in the refrigerator. Drink two or three glasses a day and your toes will be fine. You are lucky you did not get the leg cramps at night.. they are very painful. Every once in a while (once or twice a week) take a teaspoon of baking powder in a half glass of water. That will keep your body's Ph in control.
