well my mom has the stomach flu. i am currently with my dad in a different house. i am seriously looking to avoid getting it. and i know my chances are greatest being in that house 72 hours after she started feeling symptoms. soooo...my quesiton is...should a wait 3 or 4 days to go back to my moms. does this decrease my chances of getting it? or does it make no difference.

ive just heard that germs can linger in the air for up to 72 hrs. after taking affect.
i know i seem paranoid but id rather get the worst cold in the world ratehr then the dredful stomach flu haha.

i am taking lots of vitamin c and washing my hands before i eat.

    thx for your help =)

The longer you wait, the better! Those extra 3 or 4 days may make all the difference. However, your mom will still have the virus in her poop (yuck, I know!) for up to two weeks so you should still be very careful when living at the house. Wash your hands before you eat, and also make sure that the bathroom (or wherever she has been vomiting) has been disinfected with bleach. Apparently Lysol will not kill the virus entirely so best to use bleach. I'm sure you'll be fine if you're careful.

I know what you mean about not wanting to get a stomach bug. I would rather have any sickness other than a vomiting bug. I really hope you don't get it. :)
