HI I AM REALLY WORRIED BECAUSE MY BLOOD SUGAR WAS 100 IN THE MORNING RIGHT AFTER I WOKE UP, I WAS WORRIED CAUSE I HEARD IT SHOULD BE LESS THAN 100. THEN LATER AFTER I ATE SOME SUGARY STUFF 1 LARGE TWIX, DIET SODA, AND I FORGOT WHAT ELSE, I RETESTED IT LIKE 90 MIN AFTER AND IT WAS 120. ARE THESE SIGNS OF DIABETES????

ALSO I AM 20 YEARS OLD AND FEMALE AND 5'8 AND 150 LBS IF U NEED THAT INFO. AND MY DAD HAD DIABETES.

    THANKS
    I USED MY DADS METER
I THINK I ATE A LOT OF CANDY THE NIGHT BEFORE, LIKE A LOT!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
BUT I DONT THINK IT SHOULD HAVE AFFECTED THE FASTING SUGAR, RIGHT????????????

Diabetes can be from weight gain, viral infections, etc. If you think you may have inherited from your dad, do a simple blood test. You will get back your results in about 2 weeks or so. Lay off the sugary stuff. Instead eat healthy sugars like fruit. No candy or other stuff. Make a pact that you won't eat anything sugary until you do a blood test or something like that. But remember diabetes CAN BE inherited or from other things. Your body does need sugar to make insulin so eat healthy ones. A very famous healthy sugar is an apple. Good luck and take care.

The only person who can say if you are diabetic is a doctor and then only after doing tests. You CAN NOT diagnose it on the strength of one home blood test. The test about 90 mins after eatting is no good for anything as everyones blood glucose would be high blood glucose should be measured before eatting or at least 2 hours after eatting(Normal levels are about 82 -110) So if you think you may be diabetic see a doctor SOON

generally speaking, if your fasting blood sugar is higher than 126 on 2 consecutive tests, you may have diabetes and should consult a physician...however your fasting blood sugar was 100 which is considered normal.

When I was diagnosed, I consumed a very high sugar meal, and tested and my blood sugar was over 500.

If your concerned about diabetes make sure you keep an eye on your diet, and exercise. Make sure you are supplementing your diet with a multi-vitamin/multi-mineral. Studies have shown vitamin D,aloe vera, chromium, cinnamin and many others have links to blood sugar. You can check out PubMed for recent studies relevent to diabetes. Vitamins and minerals work synergistically, so make sure you take a full spectrum supplement. When looking for a high quality supplement I look first at Vitamin D. A good multi will have at least 1000 IU. Make sure it has minerals too, as your body can't properly use vitamins without minerals.

Watch for symptoms of diabetes such as extreme thirst, frequent urination, dry mouth, unexplained weight loss. Those are some of the symptoms I noticed before I was diagnosed.
