  1. Wth.. :o
i'm a 16 year old girl and for the past couple of days i feel like my heart is just beating really fast. i try to do deep breathing but it doesn't help that much. i was born with a heart murmur. it has never bothered me.. i mean, i am pretty anxious. i feel like i worry like a mother lol..but currently, i don't really feel like theres anything in my life right now making me anxious. it's scaring me, and i'm going to the doctor tomorrow..on my birthday of all days -_- [yes, tomorrow is my 17th birthday] yeah, not the best way i'd like to spend my birthday but w/e.

so.. what do you think this can be? i am overweight, i'm not gonna lie.. could it be that my blood pressure it too high which is causing rapid heart beat? could it be anxiety? please help!
    by the way..
last night, i was trying to sleep just laying down in my bed resting, and my heart was beating pretty darn fast..wth?

You ought to consult a heart physician

My first guess at a cause would be high caffeine intake. Sodas, energy drinks, diet pills, coffee, chocolate, anything with lots of caffeine cause palpitations. Check your heart rate. Alot of times it feels like your heart is beating fast, when it's really just beating hard. (Count how many times your heart beats in 1 minute to get your heart rate.) 60-100 is normal.
Another cause may be dehydration, if you're not drinking enough water or juice.

    I'm an emergency room nurse.
