My blood pressue fluctuates alot, but normally stays around sys-130-140 dia-85-95. But at a physicians officians office a few days ago it was 143 over 111. I am only 21 years old. My parents, grandparents, aunts, and uncles all have been diagnosed with High blood pressure. I told the doctor all of this and she prescribed me a low dose of hctz. Weighing my options...should i try to get my bp down on my own or take the pill to control it for now and try to get off the pill later in life?
I was also prescribed celexa for anxiety but i would like any insight on whether getting my blood pressure down with the hctz will make me less anxious.....
