I have herpes type 1 and as far as i know i do not have herpes type 2. My boyfriend does not have any STDs nor does the one other guy i have slept with in the past. If my boyfriend kisses me when I dont have a cold sore, and then goes down on me, can I give herpes type 1 to my genitals? Will it morph into type 2? I have a bump, its more like raised skin but when i touch it its like touching a cold sore on my lip.. Im getting tested on friday but is there a chance i have herpes? I have not had unprotected sex. And the two boys i have slept with do not have STDs, but somehow I have a bump. Its not painful, or itchy, or irritating. It doesnt burn when I pee or anything.. is this more likely an ingrown hair? (I do shave) or could it very possibly be herpes? Help! Thanks.. :/

Spreading herpes type 1 to your genitals?

Once you have had HSV1 for at least several months, it is VERY unlikely that you will catch it elsewhere on your body. Your body will have built up antibodies that will do a very good job of protecting you.
HSV2 is a different virus (strain 2, not strain 1) and HSV1 does not magically morph into a different virus when it infects your genitals. If you were to give oral sex to your BF when you had a cold sore, you would give him HSV1 genitally, not HSV2.
Condoms don't protect against herpes, or HPV, although they are great against other STDs. And unless the two men that you have slept with have actually been TESTED for STDs, or have never had any sexual contact (including oral sex), then they really don't know whether or not they have STDs. Many people have STDs but don't know that they have them because there are no symptoms.
Hope this helps.

Having a complete STD testing will lead you and keep you abreast on your sexual health. STD Testing must be done regularly so as to learn more preventive measures. Testing is done confidentially at Local STD testing labs.

Herpes sometimes looks like bug bites, rash, jock itch, zipper burn, razor burn, irritation from sex, or yeast infection. Get tested if you are confused if you have herpes.Herpes signs may appear without warning.
