Have you asked about or been told anything about an esophageal spasm or hiatal-hernia? Its when the throat constricts & won't let food down, it usually IS triggered by eating too much too fast or not chewing as well as we should, though it can also be something that you are just born with & have to deal with. But good news is you CAN deal with. I'm surprised no doc's have given you any other help other then tell you you eat too fast. My ex husband had it so bad that he had to have a couple procedures (though minor & painless), I get this sometimes, but I know its from when I eat too much or too fast or don't chew enough, I've thrown up in front of a bunch of people once, & well, that's all it took, I now don't eat too much, too fast & boy do I chew!

Well, not sure of course this is your issue but do check on the spasm or h-hernia, this could help you get the right direction on what you can do to lessen this problem.

Hope this helped! Feel better soon!

I have actually studied similar cases to yours. It is a form of "dysphagia" Go look it up on wikipedia. I recommend seeing an Ear Nose and Throat physician, and or a neurologist. There are various potential causes for your issue, some of which may not appear on the wiki page. Good luck!

i dont know if this is the same as what your problem is, but my dad had some esophagus trouble and they did some kind of procedure where he had to swallow some string and then they put some kind of ring to stretch the esophagus to open it up. they did it at the mayo clinic. i could be wrong about some of the details as my parents didnt talk much about their health. this is just what i remember when i was a kid. but maybe that give you a direction to look into.
