Not knowing the exact location of this bump, I'll have to guess that what you had was a blockage of the Bartholin's gland. Putting heat on it was an excellent thing to do, but other than that you don't want to be squeezing or poking things. There are two glands, actually, one on each side- and either one can be blocked. It would react by swelling up and becoming very tender, and the irritation would spread to vaginal lips easily enough. It might take a bit for all the swelling and tenderness to go away after the gland drains itself as well. In the meantime, it's best if you just stick to keeping the area as clean and dry as you can, and applying moist heat by soaking your tush in a tub of hot water as you are able. The spot should continue to shrink in size until it's gone entirely, and the tenderness and swelling should be gone in a few days. If it continues to hurt you though, you would do best to mention this to a parent and see a doctor to have it checked out. It doesn't sound like anything deadly, though, and you need not feel embarrassed about it. The glands do just sometimes get blocked. Avoid powders and such in the region, and keep the undies and clothing a little looser fitted, and that helps avoid the problem.
