Weird thing that happened with how my heart has been feeling?

So today I was sitting at home watching the Tyra Show with my sister, and all of a sudden I felt an almost.. flutter of my heart. Like, I couldn't catch my breath and about 1-2 seconds after the 'flutter', I was very aware of my heart beating 3 times.. I felt like it was shaking my chest! Then after that, I was ok. A little shaken up, but ok. There was no pain surrounding this event, and I am only 17 years old. I am pretty in shape and I know I don't eat as well as I should but I do try to exercise as much as I can. Now, I know that this might sound strange, but sometimes when I'm zoned out on something (in this case, Tyra), I 'forget' to breath.. Not in the way that I'm gasping for breath, but sometimes I'll hold my breath unknowinly. Does anyone have any idea what happened to me? Was my heart just trying to catch up? I really would like to know if this is serious or not. Thank you.

  2. I am 61 1/2 years old and had similar events when I was a teenager competing in atheletic events. These episodes occurred while I was not competing and I was at rest. A Medical Doctor did a complete examination on me and found nothing. This occurred 3 times with me and never occured again. It is difficult to explain - but I learned to get more rest and sleep and not be on the go all the time. At age 60 I had a complete heart examination at the Veteran's Administration and they found nothing wrong with my heart. PLEASE take life a little easier and get proper rest - you should be fine. Good Luck!

I know exactly what you are talking about but I have no clue what it could be.
