Plavix is hard on my stomach. It causes my stomach to bleed? What can I take instead?

There are many substitutes but you need to discuss it with your doctor as there are many factors about deciding which one will be the best for you. Besides, i know Plavix is an expensive one

You can begin treatment for dehydration and get the doctor to reduce the dosage of any medication he might prescribe (Plavix or any substitute) within a few weeks - or he may stop the medications altogether.

Water and salt are important for proper blood circulation and other heart-related problems that are caused by dehydration. Water and salt are natural to the body and can be taken with any medication (unless you have edema or kidney problems - then you must reduce the salt intake until these problems are corrected).

You must be thinking that I'm off my noodle to go against the advice you were probably given by your doctor to reduce salt, but this where he is wrong - the problem isn't excess salt, the problem is you're not drinking enough water to balance with the salt. Reducing salt may balance the water/salt ratio, as the doctor believes, but it is still a low balance, and therefore will not address the problem - he'll keep you on medication for life if you don't do something to change the odds to your favor. Drinking more water will also balance the ratio, but will also thin the blood to normal levels, and the rest of your tissues won't be in danger of developing a disease due to the lack of nutrition that water and salt provides.
