By this time you should know that you can satisfy a woman without sex. sex is not the be all and end all of a loving relationship. However if you feel this is knocking your confidence talk to your doctor there has been a lot of research into sexual dysfunction lately and doctors are urging people to come forward rather than suffer in silence

First off, there's a lot more to a meaningful relationship than the "performance art" part of it, to use your euphemism. It doesn't seem that way at 20 or 21, but as you get older, other things become more important as well.

Next, there's more than one way to perform. Prince is famous as a guitar player, but the dude can rock a piano too. My point is, you have more than one "instrument" you can use when performing. Interpret that any way you want.

Also, you're not the first and certainly won't be the last person who either has a performance issue going into the relationship or who aqcuires one as the relationship continues. People get old, they get hurt, they get sick, they lose their jobs and their self-esteem takes a hit...all things that hinder performance. Yet amazingly these guys manage to still meet, marry and stay married to girls somehow.

Women will be attracted to you because of your strengths. Focus on those. And I don't just mean special abilities like playing an instrument, competing in a sport or doing a prestigious job well...I also mean things like being a smart, funny, interesting, kind, compassionate, reliable, decent guy. Those things actually matter to most women; it's us guys who get all hung up on girls needing to be nymphomaniac supermodels. Chicks generally get some wisdom about this stuff before dudes.

Yep. You are up against the wall. This is a VERY good reason to be sure sure that you DO NOT become diabetic. I'm sorry you didn't listen to all those warnings are about over eating and big desserts and sh!t like that. Had I been there with you, we could have stopped this.

YOU MUST SEE A UROLOGIST! There may be little he can do, but of all the doctors available, a Urologist is the BEST TRAINED for your problem.

MAYBE drugs like Viagra and Cialis will help -- maybe not. There are some mechanical devices that can be used, like medically certified pumps. They might work, they might not. There are Penile Implants available, but the surgery is dangerous AND permanent. If the implant works, you will be rock-hard for the rest of your life! If the implant fails, then you have NO hope of ever becoming erect again.

In any event, you need to be SURE that the WOMAN (singular) you sleep with is deeply in love with you. No one-night-stands. You do that, and you are going to end up with just a long series of disappointments. Set your sights on sex AFTER marriage.

And don;t forget to discuss this problem AFTER you have become close and dear friends, NOT on the first or even fifteenth) date, but BEFORE you end up in bed together.

Gerald hi, believe me women love men for what they are - warts and all. Being a diabetic should have no bearing on finding a partner - I am a T1, yes a woman but all my husband has ever wanted to do was do what was good for me - in ALL respects - including the hypo or hyper times etc. etc. Having no idea how your diabetic control is, please bear in mind that a poorly controlled diabetic will have 'performance' (using your terminology) problems - whether male or female.

Look at it from another angle, if you met a really really great woman, would you be put off if she was diabetic or epileptic or had crones disease or any of the myriad of other medical conditions????? I certainly hope not.
