If you are having trouble and pain when you bend your knee the pain you had when you thought you dislocated the knee did something else, unless this is all you actually did in the first place for it is something they don't look at. when one of your muscles has pain to it the muscles reacts by shortening up it's tendon. When this happens to your kneecap it pulls your kneecap up on and into your knee giving you a lot of pain and the difficulty of not being able to bend it. Once like that it can stay for a long time or you can release it yourself which does a better job anyway. Here's how to release your knees:
    Kneecaps:
Do while sitting on a chair with no front cross braces.
While sitting have your leg resting in a stretched mode. Place both your thumbs, side by side, about 2 inches behind the kneecap and press down into your leg and then redirect the pressure a little towards the kneecap. After 30 seconds, slowly slide your foot back and under your chair as far as it will go, release the pressure but hold your foot there for another 30 seconds.
The important part of this is the pressure on the leg, if there isn't enough this won't take. If you run into that problem try doing it once more right away.
