say.... you're wearing your contacts outdoors on a rainy day, and the rain gets in your eyes....
will it harm your eyes in any way??

No.
Nope. They don't even get irritated.
Generally No... but...
Contacts are plastic or silicon with sterile water infused into them. If rain water gets into them... then... the rain water can enter the CL matrix..
If this rainwater... has microbes (bacteria, viruses..etc..) it can give you an infection... Worse still.. if the rain is ACIDIC (say sulfuric).. then it can certainly burn your eyes.. but.. that's irrespective if you wear CL or not...
If regular rain gets in your eye your ok.
But if a type of acidic rain gets in your eye then it
Could fuse the contacts to your cornea in the eye.
don't believe these stories about harm coming to you if its acid rain. There isn't a problem at all - I've had 40 years of getting various sorts of rain from all over the world in my eyes. Its one of the chief advantages of contacts you can go out in the rain. I don't know why people are putting these silly answers in about it fusing to your eye it seems quite irresponsible.
I don't think anything will happen....at least its better than getting water droplets on your glasses!
