First, stop drinking soda. Second significantly increase the amount of pure water that you're drinking. These two things alone could strengthen and rejuvenate your kidneys. Third, don't buy your supplements at walmart...they sell primarily junk. Go to your local health food store and look for a kidney support combination. It should contain some (probably not all) of the following herbs; milk thistle, dandelion leaf, eleuthero root, sarsaparilla, marshmallow root, parsley leaf, cornsilk, burdock root, uva ursi. The combination of herbs works very synergistically and you can get much better results with the combination than with individual herbs. Good luck and be well.

As someone who's had kidney disease and a transplant, I was always advised not to take supplements. They're not regulated by the FDA; they could potentially even harm the kidneys and decrease the function. Everything you put in your mouth has to also be processed by the kidneys.
The most important things you can do for kidneys is keep your blood pressure under control; avoid sodium (most sodium does not come from table salt; it comes from processed foods like hot dogs, pizza, soup, canned vegetables, etc); if you are diabetic, try to control your blood sugar; if you're not diabetic, try to avoid Type 2 diabetes. See a renal dietician if your kidney disease is advanced or you just want some extra advice.
I stayed off dialysis for 15 years by doing the things above. I also had great medical care and followed my doctor's advice.
