what over the counter medication can prevent or cure H1N1 virus?

    i think i might have the H1N1 virus? what can i take to prevent it or to get rid of it?...help

    Vitamin D... Helped me when i had it. My 2yo got over that flu fairly well. Just let it run its course. May last about a week.

    Table spoon of honey is good for the hurting throat... Only take fever reducers if you Absolutely need to.. Id say if your fever is over 103.
    The fever is tryin to help get rid of the virus, so if you stop ur fever you're literally stopping your bodys defense/ and probably prolonging everything/

    None.

    Oseltamivir (Tamiflu) is the only drug that actually works. The other major anti-influenza drug, amantadine, does not work on this strain.

    Note that there are a lot of quacks who think vitamin D is a miracle cure. There is no evidence for their claims.

    Only antivirals can be used to treat H1N1. It will decrease the severity and shorten the time you are sick, but you need to start taking it within 24-48 hours to be effective. All you can do is treat your symptoms. Drink lots of fluids, get lots of rest, etc. Don't go around spreading it. If you have a fever, you are still infectious. The only way to prevent getting the virus or a cold is by getting the vaccine and good hand washing practices. Hint: After you wash your hands, use a paper towel to turn off the faucet and open the door when you leave the restroom.
