what to do when you have a minor dog bite?

    Wash it with running water, soap, cold water.

    make sure the dog didn't have rabies.

    whilst the dogs shots are well and good the more important thing is your shots.

    if the skin is broken certainly wash it with a good antiseptic and if your tetanus vaccinations are not up to date or you have never had one it would be wise to go to an ER/doctor/clinic and get one. whilst dogs do clean their own sores etc by licking the same does not apply to humans and bites can become infected very easily with the worst scenario being tetanus (aka lockjaw) and the treatment for that is pretty drastic if you are to survive.

    i am not trying to scare you just pointing the possibilities.
