When should I get tested for cancer?

Im only 23 but I dont want cancer to be the way I go. I was wondering, what types of tests are there for the different types of cancers and when should I get tested? I know people die from lung cancer when they are only in their 30s and are nonsmokers so obviously not all cancers are expected. Still, my risk factors that I can think of are:
-I work in a lab with radioactive isotopes (only C14)
-My family has a history of thyroid and breast cancer (my great grandma died of thyroid, my aunt and mom had theirs taken out and my aunt had a ton of lymph nodes removed too. We had another aunt die of breast cancer.)

Thank you so much in advance!
The only other things that run in my family are possibly lupus (my great grandma), arthritis, and the men sometimes have heart problems....I doubt any of that has to do with cancer, just throwing it out there!

  2. You should at least have regular Pap Smears done. You need to tell your doctor that breast cancer runs in your family. He/she can give you better advise.
