What does it mean when several lymph nodes in and around your neck and jaw have been swelling up for a few months, but you feel perfectly healthy and aren't suffering from illness. And if your lymph nodes aren't shrinking but more are slowly swelling up. The only other symptom I have is very bad fatigue and weakness and little bit of weight loss, should I be concerned or is this normal?
It's definately not mono because I've been tested.
I don't think it could be HIV - I'm still a virgin and the only needles etc I've had stuck in me are by the doctors.
I'm anemic if that's got anything to do with it?
Well the doctor said he could feel swollen 'glands' there and so requested mono test (ERS) but since then has done nothing apart from tell me it isn't mono. That's why I'm not sure whether I should go back and get him to look further into it.

Anytime you experience unusual symptoms thats last a long time, you should consult a doctor.

Lymph nodes swelling up can be caused by many things, and 999/1000 its nothing serious at all. But when they are in the presence of fatigue and weight loss over a period ot time, it could be something to check-into.

I should tell you though that people are very bad at diagnosing their own lymph nodes. Many people can feel them even when they considered perfectly normal. Also there are things around the jaw that feel like lymph nodes, but actually are not.

    It could mean several things:

Infection: This can increase the number of white blood cells, which multiply in response to stimulation with a foreign substance (antigen)

Virus: Immune reaction to a generalized infection in the body such as viral infections that can occur with the common cold as well as more serious infections such as HIV

Inflammation: Infiltration with inflammatory cells during infection or inflammation in a region of a given lymph node

Cancer: Infiltration with malignant cells (metastases) brought to the node with the lymph flowing from an area of a certain type of cancer

Cancer of the Blood: Uncontrolled, malignant multiplication of lymphocytes as in lymphoma or leukemia

    See a doctor, urgently.

Have you put yourself at risk of contracting HIV in the past few months? Not trying to scare becuase lots of things can cause those symptoms.

You might not believe this, but if you stick to a healthy dietary habits by eating small meals throughout the day like every 3 hours, protein shakes and copious amounts of water you will lose body fat and maintain size. Things like bread and pasta should be kept to a minimum, they are still needed and are good if you need that extra energy to get through a workout. Just don't over do them! Losing muscle mass occurs when you are on a 'diet' that denies your body the nutrients needed to sustain strength. You can also take some of the supplements on this site to help speed up your weight loss. http://aeleevo.notlong.com
