I feel weird when I look in the mirror. I pull facial expressions and am fascinated in a sense with my reflection but it feels as though I don't know who the person is, staring straight back at me. It can make me quite sad as I look in the mirror too because I feel like this is a dream and the person looking back is not me. I suffer from all the symptoms of Borderline Personality Disorder. But I don't know what this is a symptom of?
No, I do know it is me, it just feels as though it isn't and feels strange. I never literally think my reflection is somebody else ^_^

I feel like this all the time. To mean it's like I'm completely disconnected from the world. Like I'm just watching people live out their days. I have a family history of mental illness but I'm too stubborn to see a therapist. You're probably just depressed and lonely.

It sounds like you don't know who you are. You need to get to know yourself better. Start to notice your likes and dislikes. Begin to voice your opinion on different subjects. Notice what you are feeling at a given time. Ask yourself, "What do I want in my life?" "What is important to me?" Hopefully you will get to know the stranger in the mirror. Good Luck.
