Well, the burning starts immediately when i put the contacts in. The burning is so severe that I cant have them in there for a few seconds. I have had my contacts for about a month now and this problem just started two days ago. Also, i use ReNu Fresh. I used to use Opti- Free and had no problem

I would try new cleaning solution, either a new brand or a new bottle. I think they are all thimerisal-free these days but check to make sure the brand you are using is.

If that doesn't work immediately, use another pair of contact lenses (assuming these are daily/monthly wear). If that doesn't immediately, see your eye doctor. In fact, if your eyes stay red for more than a few hours after taking the lenses out, I'd check with a doctor.

It does sound like the solution is the culprit. Definitely a lubrication problem though. Your eyes may be very dry right now .. most are due to the heat being on often in the winter. Thus putting your lens in ontop of dry eyes is very irritating. I would recommend switching brands of solution, and trying to put lubricating solution in the eye (not cleaning) before putting in your lens.. This should provide an adequate layer to prevent irritation. Because once you lock in the irritated area behind the lens,.. it is hard to fix without pulling out the lens and starting over.

What is the Chemical solution that your contacts have? You might have a allergy against what solution is present or what is on your hands that is reacting to the lens by putting the contact lens in your eye.

I pasted a link that may help or give you information about why. Hope this helps.
If you are switching solutions it might irritate more if you do not know which eye solution you need, It would be best to see a pharmocologist or talk to a physician about what solution worked best before you switchwed to use a different pair of contacts.
