This is my last eye question for now. I know at least three people who were prescribed glasses, and then two of them 'grew out of it.' The other one is my grandma, and that might just be pride-related, I'm not completely sure - but she can see fine when I see her (better than me!) Why are they given glasses in the first place? Can you have a problem and then grow out of it? (my grandma has her own opinions on this)

Why do some people get glasses and then don't need them anymore?

depending on your prescription you can actually grow out of them. Kids that are farsighted tend to decrease in prescription as they grow. Adults who are nearsighted, right before they have to wear bifocals can sometimes "grow out" of their prescription as well.

Optometrists grab people off the streets forcibly examine them and then prescribe glasses tht they don't need.
