Why do the back of my gums hurt?

I woke up with a little bit of a cold a couple of days ago, and when I woke up this morning, the back of my gums were extremely sore. I had my wisdom teeth removed a few years ago, but it almost feels like they are growing back in. (I know they aren't, but that's what it feels like).

It doesn't hurt anywhere else except for in the back of my mouth.

Any idea's on what is going on??

    Thanks!

It's probably a swelling in the lymph nodes from the very end of the cold. Does it feel like the pain is almost to your ears? If so, that is most likely the case, the pain should dissipate in a day or two.
