Why do you get phlegm after eating certain food?

    could be the preservatives in the burger, lettuce and tomatoes on burgers seam to have lots of preservatives on it to keep it "fresh" looking, but the rest of it might be ok for you.

    unless fast food salads are ok for you, then that's probably not it.
    they probably have the same preservatives

    I've noticed I get a lot of phlegm after eating fast foods such as Mcdonalds but don't if I eat healthy foods. I find it embarrassing to cough up phlegm in public. I can't live on only vegetables and need meat in my diet, but once I eat meat this happens. What causes this and how can I get rid of it?

    Well, sorry to say, but you might have a food allergy. Go consult with a doctor.
