because the alcohol company help funded the commercials with the govt because if weed is sold its going to beat alcohol any day of the week in sales and if its made legal its to easy to grow at home so taxing it would be hard.

When its clear that even Alcohol does more damage? Hell THC is used as medicine, at a much higher dose than you would find smoking a blunt. The whole "Gateway" drug is a stupid argument since people who want to try those drugs will try it wether or not they've smoked marijuana. I've smoked for four years and I've never been tempted to try anything else. I simply cannot understand why its so feared and hated. Could someone please shed some light on why this recreational drug/medicine is considered worse than alcohol despite the fact that alcohol is clearly more addictive and damaging?

Lets examine marijuana prohibition, it was criminalized because blacks and hispanics were using it. Harry Anslinger attributed the "satanic" jazz music to using marijuana. With enough propaganda and yellow journalism they criminalized it in 1937. Now, i think your talking about the scheduling of marijuana, which is a schedule 1 drug like heroine and crack. Richard Nixon ordered the scheduling of drugs and created the DEA and the War on Drugs. Why? thats a good question, one that i really cant answer. Some people believe in conspiracies or whatever, i just say i dont know. Maybe back then they though it was lethal or that it turned everybody in to hippies who wouldnt fight in the war.

  5. Because the government knows marijuana will shut down big pharm for good. If California legalizes it in November a lot of other states will follow.
