Why is my eyesight growing worse and is there any way to stop it?

    Usually, if your eyes are going bad, they will tend to get worse while you are still growing and the changes will generally stop, or greatly slow down, once you are fully grown (like in your early 20's). Don't worry, the optician isn't going to scold you for not wearing your glasses, that did not cause your vision to get worse. Even, if you did wear them, it would have made no difference. Wearing or not wearing your glasses doesn't seem to have any effect on whether your vision gets worse or not. I don't think there is any scientifically proven way to make eyes return back to normal vision or prevent them from getting worse. There are a lot of web sites advertising special "eye vitamins" "eye exercises" strange glasses, etc none of this stuff has been shown to work. If you want to try it, it will cause no harm, but don't expect much help either. Anyway, if you just have regular nearsightedness, it is nothing to panic about, you aren't going to go blind or anything like that.
