It is impossible for you to lose muscle mass, as it is a tissue. That's like saying your arm'll fall off if you don't use it for a week. It is possible for it to shrink, that all depends on how long you don't use it for and depending on how much water within the muscle, or muscle layers, you lose will vary the amount of time it'll take to get it back.

It would seem that more important than muscle mass is that you are sick and haven't eaten. Have you been able to get fluids down? You need to try taking some small sips of water or ice chips. If you get dehydrated you will get sicker. If your condition has not improved within 12 -24 hours you need to call your physician or go to the urgent care or ER. When you do try to eat stick to something like chicken broth, chicken noodle soup, cranberry or apple juice. Once those stay down move on to toast, oatmeal along with fluid.
Don't worry you won't loose muscle mass with a short illness.Posted 1 year ago #
